A Modest Proposal

A Modest Proposal made it’s debut in November, 2013 at Bryant Lake Bowl Theater in Minneapolis. Set in 18th century Ireland, the satirical essay, “A Modest Proposal” by Jonathan Swift is circulating the country, comedically suggesting that the starving Irish Catholics eat their young. When the poor O’Really family gets ahold of the essay, they take the narrative to heart and begin implementing Swift’s ideas which creates revenue and a booming economy for their little, backwards town.
